Lake Wissota State Park - Chippewa Falls

The gorgeous landscape of Northwest Wisconsin makes it a great place to spend a weekend or longer in the outdoors. From the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to the many state parks along scenic rivers and lakes, there’s a reason why so many travelers love going “Up North” throughout the year.
One of the stand-out campgrounds for RV camping in this region is Lake Wissota State Park. The RV sites are in a peaceful, wooded setting with easy access to the 6,300-acre lake, perfect for long days boating, swimming, kayaking, fishing and more. Bring the bikes along to explore over 11 miles of off-road trails or connect with the Old Abe State Trail for a longer adventure. Kids will love the playground and sharing s’mores around the fire at night after a full day of fun. Your group can even check out fishing equipment for free at the park office.
Harrington Beach State Park - Belgium

Wake up to a view of sparkling Lake Michigan at Harrington Beach State Park about 30 minutes north of Milwaukee. With a mix of grasslands, woods and wetlands throughout the park, as well as a scenic swimming beach, you’ll have plenty to explore here on your RV adventure. Each site at this family campground includes a fire ring and picnic table, and there are even laundry facilities in the park.
Lounge and swim together on the mile-long stretch of sandy Lake Michigan shoreline and hike to the limestone quarry lake. Plan your visit to coincide with public viewing nights at the park’s observatory to get an up-close view at the starry night sky. The universal playground offers hours of accessible fun for everyone.
High Cliff State Park - Sherwood

Get a bird’s-eye view of Wisconsin’s largest inland lake at High Cliff State Park. The park is situated on a scenic limestone cliff overlooking Lake Winnebago, with an observation tower providing even grander views of the Niagara Escarpment.
Spend your getaway canoeing, fishing and swimming in the 137,000-acre lake with your group. You can also hike to several effigy mounds and explore the ruins of a limestone kiln from the late 1800s.
The family campground offers includes 32 sites with electric hookups and eight group sites. There are also four picnic areas with tables, grills and restrooms, perfect for gathering with friends and family. Two of the picnic areas have playgrounds, with an accessible universal playground at the upper day use area for everyone to enjoy.
Amnicon Falls State Park - South Range

For a rustic adventure at the northern tip of Wisconsin, head to Amnicon Falls State Park. Hike the 2-mile trail along the rushing river that features rapids and breathtaking waterfalls, with a covered footbridge offering a magnificent view.
During your trip, make sure you learn the intriguing history of the Douglas Fault, which is the geological formation that created the waterfalls. RV campers will have vault toilets, drinking water faucets, a large field, a swing set and a sandbox for the kids.
Wyalusing State Park - Bagley

Head to Wisconsin’s Driftless Region for prime RV camping at Wyalusing State Park. Located at the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers, the two campgrounds here offer beautiful bluff-top overlooks or, elsewhere, peaceful tree cover. Explore the bluffs on 14 miles of terrific hiking trails that feature caves and ancient burial mounds.
Traverse the river on the 6-mile canoe trail that begins and ends at the park boat landing, with canoes and kayaks available for rent from the park for easy adventuring. Fishing is also popular at this park, with bass, panfish and northern pike found throughout the rivers.
