Norskedalen's Midsummer Fest
N455 O Ophus Rd - Coon Valley, WI 54623
Every June, Norskadalen celebrates the summer solstice with its annual Midsummer Fest. This tradition originates from Midsummer celebrations in Norway that have been happening for thousands of years, with a unique Norskedalen twist.
Visitors are invited to enjoy demonstrations of folk art and heritage skills, participate in various workshops, and engage in music and family activities, all set against the beautiful backdrop of Poplar Coulee. In the historic homestead, attendees can witness the blacksmith and ropemaker at work, admire the intricate art of rosemaling and embroidery, and of course, see the fjord horses.
Once again, the event will host a nationally sanctioned USS Viking Strongman Competition at Midsummer Fest. The Viking Strongman Competition events have their origins in Norse history, reflecting the strength and endurance of this rich cultural heritage.
